Tomatoes, butter and an onion. That's it. Simplicity itself. I literally make this sauce once a week. I love it so much, I want to take it out behind the Middle School and get it pregnant!

Psst...so I was making this several weeks ago and I was aghast that I had run out of butter. BUT...I had cooked up some Benton's bacon (the best bacon in the world) the day before and saved the fat to maybe infuse some bourbon. So I used a couple of tablespoon of the bacon fat instead of the butter. Holy smoky wonderfulness! Totally different sauce than the one with butter, but hella good!
