It's just made with a...Yeah, Rye is a whiskey. It's just made with at least a 51% rye mash. Just like Bourbon needs at least 51% corn. <br /><br />A classic and great cocktail you can make with Rye is a Manhattan. Shake 3 parts Rye with 1 part Sweet Vermouth and a dash or three of bitters. Ice, of course. Strain it into a martini glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry. Yummy!<br /><br />A simpler drink would be to just mix it with some ginger ale or ginger beer if you can find it. Rye and Ginger. Great drink.<br /><br />Look up the recipe for a Sazerac. There are some who claim that it is the original cocktail...the very first of its kind. It's got all kind of yummy going on. Rye, absinth, sugar, a couple of kinds of bitters, a lemon peel.
